2005 LIBOR LEADERSHIP NAMED
December 7, 2004 - West Babylon, NY - The
Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc. (LIBOR) has recently named
a new Executive Committee. Leading the Long island Board is incoming
President, Marian Fraker-Gutin. Marian was installed into her leadership
role by the Honorable Judge Phillip M. Grella, during the recent LIBOR/MLSLI
Installation Dinner Dance held at the Crest Hollow Country Club.
Marian has been active in real estate since 1967. In 1976 she became
Broker-owner of Mary Elmore Realty Company, Inc. in Merrick. Since
Marian became a member of LIBOR, she has been served on almost every
committee of the Board. In 1990, she was elected Board Officer and
served as LIBOR President for the first time in 1994. In 1995, she
was named LIBOR Realtor® of the Year. In 1999 she was named “NYS
Realtor® of the Year. Marian has served as a Director of the LI
Realtors® Federal Credit Union since 1972 and as President from
1977-1982.
Marian has served as a New York State Liaison for
Congress and US Senate and is a Federal District Coordinator to Congressman
Peter King.
In her hometown community of Merrick, Marian is past
President of the Merrick Chamber of Commerce and President of the Community
Council
of the Merricks. She was recognized as “Woman of the Year “in
1981 by the Merrick Chamber of Commerce and also as “Outstanding
Small Business Owner” in 1985 by the Nassau County Council of
Chambers.
Marian lives in Merrick with her husband Lou Gutin.
She has two sons, Lawrence and Paul Michael. Paul is married to Terry;
they have two
sons, Nicholas and Thomas, the “Loves” of Marian’s
life. Her daughter Ellen and son-in-law Tom are presently working in
the United Arab Emirates until Spring 2005.
Joining Fraker-Gutin are LIBOR Executive Committee
members: President-elect, Gilbert Picard; Vice President of Suffolk,
Linda Bonarelli Vice President
of Nassau, Marilyn Urso; Vice President of Queens, Walauddin Hoosein;
Treasurer,Mohsen Zandieh; and Secretary, Michael Mendicino. Marian
says, “She hopes to get more agents and Brokers to participate
in the decisions of LIBOR in the upcoming year and encourages all members
to be proactive in Realtor® matters.”
